Coordinating suspended ceilings with lighting, sensors and sprinklers

A suspended ceiling only looks finished when every opening lines up. Lighting, smoke detectors, Wi-Fi access points and sprinkler heads all compete for the same 600 mm modules. Coordination is a ceiling problem as much as an M&E problem.

Freeze positions before tiles are ordered

Late moves force cut tiles, off-centre panels and crooked sightlines. Agree a coordinated reflected ceiling plan — even a marked-up PDF — before the grid goes up.

LED flat panels and grid module

Most commercial LED panels sit neatly in a 600×600 or 600×1200 grid, but frame thickness and emergency pack depth still matter. We check void clearance and cable routes so panels do not kick tiles out of plane.

Sprinklers and detectors

Sprinkler heads need correct spacing and clearances. Cutting random holes in mineral fibre without matching the grid rhythm is the fastest way to make a ceiling look amateur. We work to the approved drawings and leave tidy, centred penetrations.

One supervisor for ceilings and abutments

Where partitions and dry lining land in the same programme, Erimus coordinates wall heads with the ceiling so sensors and services are not trapped in awkward junctions.
